  • 4pm: Adam Davidson: Looking Beyond the Next Big Thing in Media
2021 was a year of major shifts in the ways we create, consume, and distribute news media content. Newsletters are in. Audio chatrooms are out. New startups doing high-brow journalism are in. SPACs are in until they’re not. AI journalism is coming, and the metaverse may be too. As we move through 2022 and look to the years ahead, what will be the biggest thing to upturn the news? In this fireside conversation with Adam Davidson, CEO of The Atlantic Nicholas Thompson will reflect on the biggest questions, trends, and lessons learned from 2021, and discuss their predictions for the rest of 2022.

Anand Giridharadas will be in conversation with Wajahat Ali, author of GO BACK TO WHERE YOU CAME FROM: AND OTHER HELPFUL RECOMMENDATIONS ON HOW TO BECOME AMERICAN. How do you make sure there’s enough spices in the chicken and enough halal meat? How do you defeat Thanos, white supremacy, with the ethnic Avengers, and do with a smile on your face? This session will teach you how.
